Car shipping, answered.
How much does it cost to ship a car in Malaysia?
RoRo benchmark for a sedan: from RM 1,995 (return to Peninsular), RM 2,000 (Sarawak), and RM 2,245 (Sabah) — port handling and customs documentation included. Rates exclude Marine Insurance; the premium is calculated from your vehicle's Insured Value and confirmed together with your quote. The exact rate depends on vehicle type, destination port, and sailing date.
How long does car shipping take?
Transit is typically 10–14 days port-to-port, depending on the destination port and sailing schedule. Pending (Kuching) is usually the fastest; Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, and Tawau take a little longer.
RoRo or container — which should I choose?
RoRo (drive-on, drive-off) is the most cost-efficient method for any driveable vehicle and is our standard service. A locked container costs more but gives full enclosure for premium cars or when shipping belongings alongside.
Is Marine Insurance part of the price?
Marine Insurance is calculated separately, not automatically bundled into the RoRo tariff. Rates are port-to-port and exclude Marine Insurance — the premium is calculated from your vehicle's Insured Value, referencing your existing vehicle insurance policy, and confirmed together with your quote. Port handling and customs documentation are included. Home pickup is available for +RM 250. No hidden fees.
Which regions and ports do you cover?
Peninsular Malaysia (Port Klang, Penang, Pasir Gudang), Sabah (Sepanggar/Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau), and Sarawak (Pending/Kuching, Bintulu, Sibu, Miri) — both outbound and the return leg.
Can the car be driven onto the vessel?
Yes — with RoRo your running vehicle is driven directly onto the vessel deck at the departure port and driven off on arrival. Non-running or accident vehicles can still be shipped by container; ask our officer for arrangements.
